Climathon October 2017
What is Climathon?
Climathon is a global 24-hour climate change hackathon which will take place simultaneously in major cities around the world on 27 October 2017.
The event brings together teams of creative problems solvers with local government officials to tackle climates problems nominated by each host city. Throughout the event, cities will get the chance to link up via live stream across the states to share ideas, support, and motivation while problem solving in real time.
This year six Australian cities will take part, including Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne. Another 53 cities around the world will also be participating in the 24-hour event simultaneously – making it the biggest of its kind in history.
Climathon is an initiative of Climate-KIC Australia. The Australian events are supported and coordinated by partner institutions; the University of Melbourne, Curtin University, EnergyLab, Queensland University of Technology and the University of Adelaide.
